Skills Check #2
Skills Check Comparison: From my first skills check to the second skills check my skills have improved. I have improved with using shading and highlights. In the still life section, the first time I did a still life, it had many details, but that is it. There was no highlights, it was 2-D. The second time I did the still life, I didn't add as much details, but I added shading and highlights where the light was reflecting off of the bottle. I am most proud of my still life because there was a lot of improvement. I started with using contour lines (which I then erased the lines I didn't need) and then add the highlight and shading. I need to improve on my portraits because between the two, they are very similar with little to none improvement. All in all, I improved on my still life (the still life project helped me with that) and I need to improve on my portraits, so that will be what I want to work on next time.
Skills check #3
Skills Check Comparison: For the first quadrant (portrait), my third time drawing a portrait has improved since skills check #1. In the second quadrant (Indoor/Outdoor), compared to skills check #2 and skills check #3, the mountain scene did improve. That is because the first time I drew the mountains, it was plain and the second time I drew the mountains, it doesn't looked rushed and it's more neat. In the third quadrant (Still Life), from skills check #1 to skills check #3, it has improved because there is depth, highlight, etc. However, from skills check #2 to skills check #3, there wasn't that much of improvement. In the last quadrant (Free Draw), I used linear perspective as my chose for free draw and I could've added more detail to the drawing.
Skills Check #4
I improved on my on my still life from skills check #1 to skills check #4. An area that I need to improve on is my portraits because they skill need a lot of improvement to look semi decent. From skills check #3 to skill check #4, the still lives are pretty similar and there isn't really that much of an improvement. Also, my portrait for skills check #4 isn't that good. The portrait for skills check #3 is a lot better than the recent one.
