Reflection
1. Define which techniques you tried and mastered? Struggled?
I tried to master both pencil and colored pencil. I struggled greatly trying to add the wrinkles in the dress and I didn't add all of the wrinkles because I personally didn't think it looked good. Also, the drawing is very 2-dimensional and I should've tried to create more depth to the drawing to make it more life like.
2. How did you draw inspiration from other artists techniques or aesthetics in your work? In what ways did you derive meaning or gain historical perspectives from their work? Why these artists?
I didn't look at other artists and went based off of what I had learned last year in my art class. I incorporated those techniques (drawing a grid, finding shapes in the picture, etc.) to help myself draw the dress.
3. Describe the evolution of your piece. Decisions made. Compositional elements.
The evolution of my piece was that I started with a rough sketch of the dress to try to figure out what the overall drawing would look like. Also, it helped me try different approaches on how to make the wrinkles (even though all of those approaches failed).
4. If you could consider doing something over, explain why you would do this and what you would do next time?
If I could do something over, I would add more shading and depth to the dress because I feel as though it looks very plan and unfinished. I would also try to make things as symmetrical as I could because it would give it more realistic feel.
