1. Define which techniques you tried and mastered? Struggled?
The techniques that I had tried and mastered was photoshop. While I was able to figure out the placement for all of the images, it took me about five different tries to figure out what looked good and what didn't. Also, I tried to add shadows, however it didn't look right and I didn't know how to make it look realistic. Overall, this photoshop project was trial and error and figuring what components of photoshop would work best.
2. How did you draw inspiration from other artists techniques or aesthetics in your work? In what ways did you derive meaning or gain historical perspectives from their work? Why these artists?
My inspiration for this project was Alice in Wonderland because in the movie she is looking through a keyhole and I thought that would be an interesting idea to incorporate into my artwork.
3. Describe the evolution of your piece. Decisions made. Compositional elements.
The evolution of my piece was to piece together different pictures that resemble a woodsy theme that young girls imagine. Also, my piece at the beginning of the project, looked completely different from what it looks now. Also, I was able to use different tools in photoshop that I have never used before. For example, I was able to create the dreamy effect by using different blur methods.
4. If you could consider doing something over, explain why you would do this and what you would do next time?
If I could do something over in this project, I would use different colored birds because now that I am examining the piece, the birds blend it with the background. Also, I would take more time on cutting the keyhole because the edges aren't completely straight and is a little messy.
5. Elaborate on how this piece links with your other pieces? What is the common thread?
This piece links with my other piece because it represents childhood memories and my other piece represents my baptism. The common thread is family/childhood.
